Among them, the figure of the jovial Buddhist monk Budai （布袋）reigns supreme. His countenance beams with an eternal smile, his face adorned with joyous expressions. With elongated earlobes, a round belly, and a carefree demeanor, he stands bare-chested, holding a cloth bag. Gazing forth with an air of honesty and simplicity, he radiates happiness to all who lay eyes upon him. Thus, many affectionately refer to Maitreya Buddha as the Laughing Buddha, the embodiment of joy and mirth.
